beta egg hunt

the lucky PS betas got to go on a field trip for their easter celebration on thursday!  it still makes me a little nervous to know that my 4 year old is riding on a school bus.  on the freeway.  in houston.  i'm working on getting over that, though.  so the betas got to go out to the OEC to hunt easter eggs in the garden, which is so beautiful.  too bad i didn't get any pics that you would appreciate.

i did manage to get these, though:
they were each allowed to pick 7 eggs, so emily ran around looking for pretty, princess eggs.  you should have seen her socks and shoes from running through the mulch and wet grass.

her aunt said, "she's the most precious beta ever...even if she is a midget."  lovely.
we always get on my dad for taking pics from the worst angles.  now look at me.

yes, my heart skipped a beat here.

after the hunt, the kids got to dye easter eggs.  surprisingly, no one made too big a mess.

<3

they were lining up for a relay race.  em "did really good, except i dropped my egg at the end."  i took a video here but couldn't get it to upload.  sorry!

time for snack!  how sweet are all those little prayer hands?

hahaha.  this was towards the end of the fun.  to burn off some energy, someone suggested that the babies run a lap on the track.  that would be a quarter mile, folks.  em started out strong but got tired and ended up about 2/3 back.  when she finished her lap (yay!  lots of little ones gave up and cut across the field), she ran up to me and said, "i'm so tired, mommy.  why did they make us do that?!"  haha.  she was a little annoyed about that and all i could do was laugh.
