some great restaurants have opened here recently. unfortunately, donnie and i rarely get date nights so we haven't tried the majority of them. on wednesday, my sister got a last minute reservation at katsuya and assured me that it was child friendly. the reservation was early enough, so we decided to go.
omg, it was one of the best meals i've had in a while. not only did they offer us a booster for em, but they even had a kid's section on their menu. we'll be returning for sure!
i also have to mention that ian schrager was there. google him if you don't know who he is. wow.
i seriously cannot get over how cute they are.
this pic is not as cute. but it's so rare that i get a pic with my baby girl (since i'm always the one snapping them), so i had to share.
we got the chef's tasting menu. em was only interested in the dessert. the creme brulee was her favorite, "it tastes just like whipped cream!" she may have even tried to lick the bowl. and i may have gotten a picture of that.
on saturday, we woke up early to cheer on daddy and uncle dave, who ran his first 5k ever.
before.
after. not bad for some old guys :)
they ran to honor their father, who passed away due to colon cancer 7 years ago (this week, in fact). i love that donnie thought to print a picture and carry it with him. it was from our wedding day. sure wish mike could have met emily; he would have loved her so much.
we ended our weekend at em's school's OEC- outdoor education campus- for an ice cream social. em insisted on going to pick some flowers. she is definitely my child. i loved picking flowers when i was a little girl.
emily did not leave grace's side all evening. grace is in 1st grade and is so cool.
and no, emily is not wearing shoes here. she and grace took off their shoes and "left them in the field. grace said we didn't need to wear them." not even in the restroom. so gross.
