ick (and coincidentally, the day em went poop on the potty)

we had such a fun 4th of july weekend and are all paying for it this week.  emily had a high fever for 2+ days, which meant we had to make a trip to the doctor after hours.  she tested negative for strep, so it was likely just a virus that was going around...sorry, just lost my train of thought because brittany just texted me that EMILY WENT POO ON THE POTTY!!!  true to her word, em pooped on the potty when she was 3 1/2.  (technically, she'll be 3 1/2 next week, ha).  this means we have a toy store run to make tonight.  she's been wanting a "weddin' ariel and a microphone stand."

back to the ick part of this post (although talking about poop is pretty ick, i do realize).  so em had a virus that left her with a 102 fever for 2 days.  poor baby.

(and i had to pause again to talk to em on the phone.  she and britt are about to have a pull up party...to throw them all away ;) ).

em was great at the dr's office.  i can't remember when we went last, but she has grown!  at 3 1/2 y.o., she is 37 lbs and 39 inches.  such a big girl!  instead of crying when the nurse swabbed her throat (to test for strep), em just took the matter into her own hands by taking hold of the q-tips (which she forever called q-pics) and removing them.  "i don't want that."  haha.

you can barely see her "sick eyes" here, but trust me, they were pathetic.

yesterday we had another doctor's visit, this time it was the dentist.  i have been dreading this visit because it's the one where we were supposed to discuss placing the plate on the roof of her mouth to correct her cross bite.  BUT, em wanted nothing to do with anyone putting anything in her mouth.  she said no to the x-rays, no to the cleaning, no to the flossing, and even no to the dentist counting her teeth.  the awful assistant, who honestly, has no business working at a pediatric dentist's office, decided em needed to go to the "kitty cat room" so that we could pin her down.  i was a little pissed about this, but did it anyway.  i'm not sure why.  i've never seen my baby girl so upset before.  we literally had to hold her down and pry her mouth open.  all for what?  a cleaning that really wasn't all that necessary anyway?  i just hope that didn't scar her for life.  all that to say that the dentist decided that we would wait to correct the cross bite.  (i'm sort of of the opinion that 3 1/2 is way too soon to do something like that anyway.  she's still trying to get her speech down, and a device in her mouth is sure to hinder that.  but what do i know?  i'm just a mom).

the calm before the storm.  and look.  the lady is already looking unpleasant and unlikeable.

so during this ordeal, i am just getting more angry at this stupid assistant...whose name, everyone, is CINDY, in case you would like to request someone else at this dentist's office.  (pretty sure everyone i know uses this dentist).  i'm thinking of other dentists to go to in the future as we are leaving, only to get to my car to discover this:

seriously?  of course there was no note.   after requesting an investigation that i know annoyed the (stupid) security guard (who, btw, was only concerned with the the make, model, and year of my car and told me i could pay for the damage out of pocket), we found the hit and run culprit.  i'd like to think she was soo embarrassed when the office called to tell her that they had pictures and video tape of her trying to park next to me and then parking elsewhere and of her son getting out of the car to check their bumper and rub it, and then she herself doing the same thing, but she wasn't.  not in the least bit.  instead she just lied to donnie's face (okay, ear, it was on the phone) and told him she had "NO IDEA" she hit my car and didn't even look at her car until after the office called her.   the only thing my sweet girl said was, "mommy, why did someone crash into beep beep and not leave a note?"

i know in the realm of things, this is nothing.  there are worse things for sure.  but as a mother, it appauls me that people like her have no problem setting poor examples for their children.  and (whew), i'm done.

sorry about that.  i'm getting off my soapbox now.  and getting into the car to go home and celebrate with my big girl!!!  i love this ending to our awful week!

Glad you were able to identify who messed with your car. Hope her pants catch on fire, the big liar! Yay for Em! I bribed Cameron to poop on the potty as well. That's how he got his big collection of Thomas the Train cars!
