We started our morning by heading out to see Em's cousin (or cousins if you count step-cousins...is there such a thing?) cheer in her first competition. Emily really wanted nothing to do with anyone except her cousin Shay, and that was only because Skittles were involved. Just 10 am and I was already conceding that all Em would be consuming today was candy.
Em also got to meet Jenny finally, so that was special. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of them together :o(.

Our little pumpkin was so excited about her "puhpin dress." She even wore the headpiece, which surprised me. We headed to Dylan's for a block party and trick-or-treating at the neighbors' homes. Emily totally got the drill. Knock on the door. Peek in the windows. Wait. Hold out your pumpkin bag. And hopefully say thank you. Since most neighbors were at the block party, they would just leave bowls of candy by the door. Em didn't mind one bit. She'd pick out her one bag of M&Ms (always), put it in her bag, and move on. I'm surprised she didn't want to eat each piece immediately, but I'm thinking that's just because she already had 5 (or 8) bags of either M&Ms or gummi bears.

Trick or treating is hard work. Must refuel. And put our feet up. What? Halloween's not over yet? Apparently not. Having already missed our window of opportunity to get Em to bed and all that candy left us with a wired little pumpkin. She and Donnie went to drop off treats at Monica and Josh's (or Moh-Josh's) and stayed for an hour! So Em was up until ten, dancing to Michael Jackson and eating candy corn.
