isn't that what TEX used to say?
i have been dreading this day for the last year, which should come as no surprise to you. i'm like that. it's always hard to say goodbye to someone who has been a part of your life. our miss brittany is going back to lubbock to finish off college and we are so, so sad. she has been such a big part of emily's life and has watched over and loved our baby girl since last summer. emily has had a blast and gotten to do so much with britt over the last year. their favorite spots were mad potter (their first and last outing), the zoo, the aquairum, the children's museum, museum of natural sciences/butterfly exhibit, chuck e. cheese, wonderwild, swirll, and lately, the mall :).
then:

em's first day with britt in august 2010
now:

em's last day with britt :(
can you believe how much she's grown?!
we had a luncheon last week to thank brittany and nikki (aaron's nanny) and send them off to college (texas tech and ut):

brittany and her mom, janice
miss nikki and em

em and miss brittany

handsome boy

nikki and her mom, roxanne

em's pretty girl rock pose

and her original pose. note her accessories.

our wonderful nannies!
britt took the opportunity to spoil emily rotten her last week...

her first real milkshake. she loved it!

and our final goodbye:
posing, of course
this one is my favorite! BIG hug!
brittany has always called em her little monkey, and she gave em this monkey before she left:

em told me one morning, "i only have 3 days left with miss brittany. and when i miss her, i just have to hug my secret present." i have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of monkey around :)
thank you, miss brittany, for all you've done. we will never forget all the fun, laughter, love, and joy you brought to emily over the year...it is evidenced in her smile in each of the pictures you took this year. we asked em what she thought of when she thought of miss brittany and she said, "feathers in her hair and having lots of fun!" best of luck to you at school! we miss you already and can't wait to facetime with you :).
