t minus 1 month

(warning, this post is sans pics for now. sorry!)

...until baby em is THREE (going on 6). she is such a big, big girl these days, and we are loving every moment with her! here is what our sweet girl has been up to:
  • her favorite store is still the disney store. she doesn't call it the woody and buzz store or the beauty store anymore. there are just too many princesses and other disney characters that she loves now.
  • she also likes hannah montana (thanks to dylan who loves to be dramatic, just like hannah). em calls her hannah on my tanna. (although, she is already kind of over hannah on my tanna. thank goodness).
  • she is not, however, over caillou. omg. emily wants to watch him constantly. and really, i don't think he's a very good influence. he has her thinking things like baths are no fun, being dirty is fun, and vegetables are yucky. plus, he is really whiny, so i could do with a little less of him around.
  • she still loves justin bieber and taylor swift, though.
  • she LOVES buying new big girl panties. i wish i were kidding when i say she has over 50 pair. she used to like showing them off to everyone, too. like she would walk up to tanner and pull down her pants to show him beauty, yo gabba gabba, cinderella, you get it.
  • she was telling aunt misty about all the different ones she had at thanksgiving and said that she was wearing fancy nancy. aunt misty told her she didn't know they made fancy nancy underwear. em was very quick to say, "uh huh! target makes them!"
  • surprisingly, she is really good at putting them on the right way. she knows to look for the writing on the back.
  • and this is just for me, but she convinced us to let her wear them to bed on 11/24. she has worn them ever since and has only had 1 accident at night.
  • she's only gone numero dos on the potty twice.
  • she went through a couple of weeks where she liked to spell her name backwards.
  • she loves drawing, coloring, and tracing. she can even write a few letters- m, e, i, l, o, and a.
  • we went to walgreens to get some cards and she decided to get herself one. "i'd like to give myself a tinkerbell one that whys my birthday is coming up."
  • remember when aaron "busted" her eye? well we were going to grandmother's for thanksgiving and donnie asked her what she would say if someone asked her about her eye. "um, i won't talk about it." lol.
  • aaron used his change to buy her an i'm sorry present. she told everyone that he was getting her an "i'm sorry beauty bicycle."
  • we were leaving for the store and she told me, "that's not fair." i asked her what and she said, "i have to wear a bow before i leave."
  • she tells me, "i need you to be patient."
  • since she wanted a princess scooter for christmas, we decided to put up her old one (that she never even used). one day, she told me, "i lost my scooter. i can't find it anywhere." i told her not to worry and that we'd find it. her response? "i think you hide it somewhere."
  • she loves, loves, loves beauty and the beast and she sings, "madam! gaston!" and "beauty and the beast" all the time.
  • when she was learning all the disney princesses, there were a few that were unfamiliar. when she'd name them off (like when she would look at a picture of all of them), she'd go, "beauty, cinderella, ariel, the girl i don't know, sleeping beauty, the other girl i don't know..."
  • she told me that talulah was her favorite friend at school. so i asked who aaron's favorite friend was. "uh, i am." like duh, mom!
  • she makes up songs and sings them.
  • we celebrated thanksgiving twice but em never had 1 piece of turkey. instead she discovered sweet potatoes. or rather the marshmellows on top of them.
  • she spied a present under the tree early and asked, "is this for me?! can i just hold it?" then she hugged it to her. she never once tried to open any of the gifts early.
  • dec. 7th was donnie's dad's birthday. em never got to meet him and has never asked about him. this year on the 7th, em asked d about his daddy (for the first time ever). d showed her a picture of her grandfather and em said, "he looks like you, daddy." melt my heart. i know she is melting mike's heart up in heaven also.
  • she loves her some slumber parties! she makes everyone have one with her. she will put a blanket on me, give me a kiss, then say, "sweet dreams." so sweet.
  • dr. emily has made lots of visits lately since our entire family has been sick. she'll tell us, "i need you to be calm. it's not going to hurt."
  • she can be a little ocd sometimes. she likes to fold stuff a lot- her blankets, clothes, dolls' clothes, anything.
  • she says the sweetest little prayers. she always starts off with "god love." and she most always says, "thank you for my family. thank you for everyone."
  • she likes jewelry, but when she says it, it sounds more like "dorie."
  • she gets the concept of mommy and daddy, but not husband and wife (or girlfriend and boyfriend). for months, she has called my sister's boyfriend trey "auntie's daddy." and she calls donnie's mom's boyfriend "grandmother's daddy." ms. candy's husband is her daddy, and hg's husband (aaron's grandfather) is hg's daddy. it is hilarious.

some funny things she's said lately include:

  • "i have an idea. if you lost them, you will never find them."
  • "i have a deal. when i give my baby a name, she will have a name."
  • "i did a zerbert" (...with her butt).
  • "i don't like the walking bear that tapped me on the head." (the rockets' mascot)
  • "start your engines!"
  • she imitates hg and others (like her friend chase at school). she'll say with a heavy southern accent, "oh dear!" or "it's riiiight there!" just like hg.
