happy birthday to my boy!

tanner, my first baby, is 11 today!

(tanner as a puppy- not quite 1 here)

and now. the years look good on him!

here are some things tanner is up to these days:

he is tolerating his sister well now, but i think he's still mad at us a little

he's kept up his weight loss and is a steady 14 lbs, having shed 2 lbs after em was born.

he eats 1 pack of dingo ball bones a night. which means i place a $350 order with dingo once every 3 months or so.

he refuses to eat biscuits anywhere but on the newly vacuumed rug or on our new bed.

since we got the new bed, he can't sleep under it anymore and instead must sleep in his restoration hardware dog bed. this makes him pretty mad.

he still growls at donnie everytime it's time to go outside. but me? he'll happily walk into my arms to go out.

he doesn't like for me to carry him up the stairs at night, but will always let donnie do so.

he's carried because he can't go up and down our wood stairs. his little furry paws provide no grip and he always slips and falls.

we still wipe his mouth off every time he drinks water.

and he gets his paws and ahem cleaned after each walk.

luckily for him, he hasn't had to wear any bows in his pony since his sister was born.

and mommy doesn't dress him up nearly as often either.

he's protective of emily, but doesn't want anyone to find out this secret of his.

his favorite foods are cheese, chicken, and steak (medium rare).

but he gets hand fed canned dog food every night. (in his opinion, this is just awful).

he has more asthma attacks in the heat.

given his age, he is in great health. although, he is getting cataracts, which makes me so sad.

emily says he is her "favorite little dog." she loves him so much. he is always the first thing she looks for each morning.

so while he may have less one on one attention these days, he could not be loved more.
