happy mother's day to me!

we started our weekend bright and early to cheer on d at the longhorn stampede.

here he comes! i told em to clap and say, "yay, daddy!" when she saw him. instead, she smiled and asked him, "you running so fast?"

em is still wishing me a happy mother's day today, which is really funny since she was not a fan of "mother's" day. sunday was my birthday or valentine's day. not mother's day :o). still, my third (!) mother's day was great! em had a slumber party at ong and ba's house on saturday night, so d got up really early on sunday morning to go pick her up so that she'd be home when i got up. along with a baby girl who was still sleepy and hadn't even had her diaper changed, he brought home breakfast, too. also waiting for me downstairs were some beautiful flowers and sweet cards. (i had gotten my mother's day gift a little early- a new laptop. with a hot pink cover!). later that morning, we headed over to my brother's house for brunch with the whole family. we had so much food left over that we decided to go home for a nap and then return for dinner.

(p.s. how long is em's hair?! still can't bring myself to get it trimmed though.)

thank you, d, em, and tanner for a wonderful mother's day. i am so proud and thankful to be em's mommy (and tanner's, too!). i never could have imagined just how much i could love a little person.
