em's friends

i sometimes ask em to name her friends for me. at the top of the list are clementine (or sometimes clem), eh-ya (ella), reesey, and harper. almost always in that order. sometimes a random boy from her class with make her list, like yuke (luke), gant (grant), or corbin. airyon is often on the list, too. but he's not random, so i couldn't include him in the previous sentence. and this weekend, our sweet godson keaton made the list!

last night i asked her about her friends again. keaton was left off.

me: "what about keaton?"
em: she shook her head.
me: "isn't keaton your friend, too?"
em: "keaton not my friend."
me: "why?"
em: "he's a boy."

daddy will be so proud.
