We <3 NYC!

(That's a heart for those of you who don't know). We spent 2 1/2 fun filled days visiting Auntie Tina in NYC and cannot believe we're already home. We had such a good time. Emily was quite the trooper, though I cannot say I'm the least bit surprised. She was on her best behavior the entire trip, having just a few not so shining moments...which were quickly forgiven when we realized she was running on only a 25 minute nap all day. In 2 1/2 days, we managed to see a little bit of a lot of Manhattan. Here is our trip in photos:

At the airport, getting ready for this big girl's first flight.

Auntie Tina arranged for a car to pick us up from the airport. But not just any car, a limo. And it had a car seat for Em. So fancy.

Friday: Serendipity 3. Frozzzen hot chocolate and strawberry sundaes? Only some of the best things ever in life.

Told you she was smart. Clearly she already knows how to read and is having a hard time choosing from the menu as well.
"Mmmmm!"
Yummy desserts = happy family.
That night, we had tapas at Pipa. Delicious. Em had calamari and loved it. I think she thought it was a french fry. While there, Daddy had to sweet talk a young lady into sharing one of her "baboos" with Emily. It was the only thing that made her smile so late in the night. As soon as she saw the baboo, she waved and smiled and had. To. Have. It.
Daddy and Em stayed in on Friday night and Mommy went with Auntie to Buddah Bar. Lots of fun, spilled drinks and all. :o)
Saturday started with brunch at Tavern on the Green. Beautiful. Food, ehhh. But all was better when the waiter brought Emily her own balloon. Again, she had seen some at the table across the room and could not stop waving them to her. It was so sweet. Next thing we know, the waiter brought Em one of her very own.

Next we headed to Central Park. Here, Em is pointing the video camera straight at some onlookers who were awwing over her. Lol.
Em's first ride on the Carosel. She waved each time she passed us. I can't believe she wasn't scared. It went so fast it made me dizzy just watching.

This little finger was what I kept seeing each time Em saw a horse at Central Park. "Naaay!"
We visited FAO Schwartz, though not the big one. Here, Em is trying to pick out a super hero Pez dispenser for her cousin Aaron, but there were none. Unless you count the Joker from Batman & Robin.

The rest of the day was a little bit of a blur (no thanks to the fun night before). But somewhere during our 4 or 5 hours out, we went to FAO Schwartz (where we saw Cali O'Malley from Grey's Anatomy...with a boy), Henri Bendels, Magnolia Bakery (home of the famous cupcakes), Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and some other fabulous places that I've sort of forgotten. Oh wait, and MoMA. Our tour guide Tina was awesome: "See that MoMA sign? That's where MoMA is."

We were exhausted from all that walking (as obviously evidenced in below photo) and took the subway home.
That night, we headed to Chelsea Market, home of my favorite Food Network, only to find that it was closed. (No, we aren't that dumb. We checked the web to make sure they were open before we left). A quick walk down the street landed us in West Village at the best little Italian restaurant- Piccolo ____(the rest of the name escapes me).
Look at this silly girl. She took Auntie's headband and put it on herself. No one even noticed...until someone did and I took this picture, naturally.

Sunday arrived way too quickly. We went to Soho for brunch and then headed back home. This beautiful view is from the rooftop (sort of) in Tina's building. So pretty.

We miss NYC and Auntie Tina already. Until next time!

P.S. Emily was an ANGEL during the flight back home. She must have been exhausted from the weekend because she slept for 2 hours on the flight, then woke up and watched her DVDs, danced, ate, smiled, and laughed for the remaining hour and a half. Thank you, sweet baby girl.
P.S.S. Where did my manners go? A HUGE thanks to my sister for such a great weekend. We had a wonderful time. Thank you, Tina.
