Santa visited! I'd love to report that Emily was totally into Christmas, but I'd be lying. I really did think she'd get a kick out of opening the presents since she did tear a few of her cousins' gifts that had been sitting under our tree for the last couple of weeks. But come Christmas Eve and she was already over it. We had a wonderful first Christmas with Em. We spent Christmas Eve at Granny and Grumpy's, where we had a delicious feast of turkey and prime rib. Em loved her mashed potatoes mixed with stuffing (a la Auntie Tina). That night, Em set out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for his reindeer. (Thanks, Keaton, for the adorable place setting). Em slept in pretty late Christmas morning (bless her). We finally made it downstairs at 8 am and discovered that Santa indeed visited and left lots of toys, books, and a cool big-girl chair just for her. And we cannot forget the stocking...for in it was what became Em's favorite toy for the rest of the weekend...a Little Mermaid cell phone. (Don't worry- Santa left something for her brother Tanner and filled his stocking with yummy treats, too).
Yet after all that excitement, Christmas still was not over. We headed down for Christmas with Donnie's family later that afternoon. Em played (as best she could) with her cousin Shaylea. I think she was surprised when Shay didn't try to push her over or steal her toys, which is what her other cousins Dylan and Aaron are so good at doing.
Now what you're really wanting- pictures of our baby girl's first Christmas:
(obviously, no caption necessary)

Granny and Grumpy have the cutest grandbabies ever.

"What? Am I not supposed to sit on this?"

Look at her mouth. She's saying, "Oh...", her favorite new word.

(Back at home) Em thought the carrots were for her enjoyment.
Please note the new rug. A gift from D.

...had to include a picture of her new chair and the cell phone, of course!
The new and much improved Curious George doll :o)
"Hurry up already, Mom!"
And last but not least, Tanner and Mousey, missing Jilly oh so much.
