em went to her first real "boys" birthday party this weekend. all of the parties she has gone to have been pretty generic first, second, and third birthday parties. many of them have been at either someone's house or at a kids' venue. and while themed, e.g., super hero, easter, cars, trains, etc., they were still pretty gender neutral. but this weekend? there was a firetruck, which to me, is all boy!

our little princess (and princess she is. check out what she wore to the party. at the park.) woke up with a little cold that morning, but since the party was outdoors, we thought we would bring her for just a bit. and just a bit was about all that she lasted. she quickly got sicker throughout the morning so we headed home early. she was sad to miss the cake, but mrs. sydney was sooo sweet to bring some home for us, which made em's night!

this was right before the tears. that little boy next to em was wailing, and when em saw the "dog stuffed animal that was real" and realized that daddy was not riding with her, she got very upset, too.

so up went daddy and our smiley girl was back.

she was fine as long as the dog stayed far from her, lol

on our way out. you can tell that em and her cold had had enough.

my camera charger had been m.i.a. for a month so i only had my phone. and guess what? not a single picture of the birthday boy :(. so sorry andrew! but thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day. happy 3rd birthday, buddy!
