happy new year!

what better way to start off the new year than reaching for the stars?

waiting in line. not scared at all. (like her blue smile? a blue candy cane was the culprit).

everytime she sees this bungee jump, emily begs us to let her have a turn. finally, we promised her that she could do the big jump jump at the mall once she became a big girl (i.e., no diapers allowed on the jump jump). that was a good 6 months ago. but the last couple of visits to the mall, she has reminded us that she is a big girl now because she wears big girl panties. crap. now what? we told her she was too little. that didn't really work because we felt bad lying to her. the only requirement is that they be 20 lbs. that's it?! i know.

so on new years day, we headed to the mall with socks in hand. emily was so excited and told me she wasn't scared at all. me, on the other hand? i was terrified. em even told the operator that she wanted to go higher. (i'm not kidding. those ropes went all the way to the top, and i about died).

i have some video of it, too. if i can figure out how to get it from the recorder onto my desktop, i'll post. (the other videos i've posted all came off my phone, which is the only reason i know how to upload them). anyway, emily was smiling the entire time!

lesson- never make promises to your children hoping that they will forget. because they won't.
