i love putting up the tree the week of thanksgiving. since we had em's christmas pictures taken the week before thanksgiving, i thought we'd get the tree up even earlier. too bad the ornaments didn't make it on there until december. even so, em loved her christmas tree and said it was the "most beautiful tree i ever seen."
she did a great job helping with the ornaments. she especially loved hanging the few that she made at school last year. 
this is elf. we had him last year but didn't give him a name because we wanted em to pick it out and she was a little too young last year. she named him elf this year. and she totally understood the concept. too bad it didn't keep her on track. sometimes when she would throw a big fit, we'd tell her that elf was watching and would tell santa that she was being naughty. and that would mean that she would get coals in her stocking. her response? "okay. i will get coals." hate to admit it, but she got that from me.
