christmas day!

elf must have really liked emily and reported only good things back to santa, because i know that she wasn't that good this year :o). just kidding. christmas morning may be my favorite part of all the festivities because it's quiet. just us. em was so thrilled this morning when she woke up and for once, didn't negotiate even a little when i told her we needed to wash her face and brush her teeth so we could go see if santa visited.

she got her princess scooter!!! to be honest, she wasn't as excited as we thought she'd be (given the amount of times she asked for it beforehand), but she really was. she couldn't wait to take it for a ride outside. he also brought her a "purple princess dollhouse," which to be honest with you, we didn't even know she wanted until we saw it on a poster at school. good thing santa knows everything.

her stocking was overflowing with jewelry, stickers, toys, headbands, etc. but you know what her favorite stuffer was? the chocolate. of course.

trying on her princess helmet. yes, everything is princess. (ick).

the tongue again. it really helps her concentrate :)

can't forget about tanner. em was so helpful and showed him everything in his stocking. he was excited for all of 10 seconds.

this is "present baby." dylan gave it to her and she didn't put that doll down for a week.

it even poses with her. aunt steph, uncle scott, and keaton sent this for em. she loves it. daddy put all her favorite songs on it and even added a miley cyrus song since she has a newfound like for hannah on my tanna. now "climb" is em's fav and she will turn on her music player, grab the mic, and just sing along to it. it is the sweetest sound ever.

3 weeks later, the big dollhouse is now home to all of her barbies, princesses, and disney characters.

she got a beauty dress and a "rapunzeled" dress. she loves them. i always pictured my little girl to be a real girly-girl, like me. however, never did i imagine that she would love disney and princesses soooo much. our house is practically throwing up (shout out to elsa!) disney and princess stuff. if we (and others) had not spent so much money on all this stuff, i'd say i was ready for this phase to be over with tomorrow. but i'll settle for next year.

thanks for the pic, d. i could barely keep my eyes open when em was opening her gifts. this was week 3 or maybe 4 of me being sick, and i may or may not have taken some nighttime medicine on accident that morning. hopefully em didn't notice as this all happened while she played with her new toys and watched the disney christmas parade on tv. she loves parades! when they sing the national anthem at the beginning of a football game (on tv), she will make me sit down to watch the parade with her.

we headed to cousin aaron's for lunch, just like last year. it's so nice to have a quiet morning and then still get to spend the holiday with family.

em made aaron sit on her lap. can you see her hand wrapped around him? love, love, love it.

she layed in this box forever "working." once she found aaron's v-tech reader, she wouldn't put it down.
and that, friends, is all of our christmas pics. sorry i'm not a better photographer :( but hoped you enjoyed you christmas as much as we did!
