as we waited for the doctor, we had a talk with em about how he would listen to her heart and check her out. she said, "no." and she wasn't kidding. she cried huge tears when we undressed her. then started crying again when dr. cook measured her head (18 3/4 in. or 60th percentile). and well, she didn't really stop until he was about to leave. amidst all her crying, and i'm talking sobbing to where she could barely catch her breath, she opened her mouth wide and said ahhh when dr. cook asked her to. that's my good girl!
just as she stopped crying, the nurse came in to stick her 3 times. the needles didn't bother her at all. it was having to lay down that pissed her off. although she had a lollipop in her hand the entire time, she never once put it in her mouth. we did trade the orange for a green one when we got to the lab. there, she watched yet another nurse prick her finger and squeeze it about 50 times so that she could "color" the circles for the lead test. not a single whimper or tear. go figure.
all smiles again. you can't see that she's showing off her sad, bandaged thumb.
