Emily Bolton, not Post

Our friend Harper Nicole turned one this weekend, and we went to Dallas to celebrate with her. Erin, Harper's mommy, did a wonderful job with the party. (I was envious of Erin's creativity, flawless execution, and perfection. I could not help but think of myself as anything but sloppy. I think I will enlist her as my party planner and decorator for Emily's next birthday).

The weekend was so short but filled with fun. Emily had a great time playing with Reese and Harper. It's so funny to see her with other children. And by that, I mean children who are nice to her, share with her, and don't pull, tug, and push her (ahem, Dylan and Aaron). At Granny's house, it is definitely survival of the fittest. Em can hold her own quite well with those boys. Yet seeing her now with 2 sweet little girls, I could not help but laugh. Em was a little confused at first when they didn't try to take toys away from her or pull at her. Once she realized that the girls were so nice, she almost became a bully! She was taking all of Harper's presents (thankfully not out of Harper's hands) and would not give them back to me. She also (kind of) used Harper as a stepping stool to climb into Harper's new pink car. Much to my relief, there was no pushing or shoving. Hopefully Harper and Reese still love her and will let her visit again. Until then, we'll be working on manners.

This family could not be any cuter!
