13 months!

I know. I'm starting to feel a bit whiny, but omg, time needs to slow down! Seems like she just had her first Christmas, new years, and birthday just yesterday. We are having the most fun time watching her grow. As usual, Emily is doing all sorts of new things:

  • She has 3 new teeth. This brings her up to a total of 11.
  • Poor baby has spent most of this past month sick. She just cannot get rid of this nasty cold and cough, which has led to her first ear infection.
  • She rarely walks like she's drunk these days and is, in fact, running now.
  • She stopped turning on the faucet when she danced for a while, but just this past week started doing that again.
  • She's a head bobber. When she dances or is really excited (think food), she'll bob her head.
  • She yells "ma. ma. ma." when she's really upset.
  • She points to ducks and dogs and calls them appropriately by name. Although cats and other animals are often "dough" (or dog), too. :o)
  • She knows turtle and balloon and will repeat them for you sometimes.
  • When Daddy comes home, she'll sometimes peak at the stairs/railing and say, "dada."
  • She looks for her brother Tanner every morning. "Dough!"
  • She loves peas. Yuck. And blueberries? Only the best thing ever.
  • "Chee choo" is what she calls her pacifier. Go figure. You have to hear her say it. Sounds like she's imitating sounds that fireworks make.
  • She does not like sitting in her high chair and prefers standing up and turning around to look for toys on the counter. (Guess I should move the toys. Or strap her in. Yeah).
  • Em is starting to get separation anxiety and really hates for us to leave her at Granny's each morning. She will do anything in her power so that you cannot put her down... hanging on to us like a monkey usually works well.
  • Yay! Emily is definitely my daughter. She loves shoes and putting bags on her shoulder...hmm, do you think she's ready for her first purse already?!
  • She finally met her Honorary Auntie Jenni and absolutely adored her. We are so glad she and Mr. Cade visited this weekend. But boo, we didn't get to take a picture with them because Em turned into her alter ego, Katie Fussikins, right before picture time. Hopefully they will be back to visit soon.

Our monthly photo shoot was not very successful. I guess I should not have tried to interrupt as she was watching Barney (gasp!).

Yes? Can't you see I'm busy?

And now back to Barney.
